For more information concerning the symposium, please visit www.indianabuildingenergy.org. We would like to encourage everyone to attend the symposium. This is a great for our industry and something that we should all be involved in.
We did it! We found a window of decent weather and had a successful program meeting in February. A big thank you to our panelists and tech speaker for helping us all understand BIM and what it can and can’t do and where it is going. It was a full meeting with our 50th year anniversary celebration and talk by Jim Wilson on the past, present, and future of ASHRAE. It was great having several of our past presidents in attendance. Go to our website for pictures of the meeting and of the past presidents.
Unfortunately, not all of our past presidents could make it. Arthur B. (Bernie) Keller sent us an email with his regrets and stated “I greatly enjoyed my long association with ASHRAE, and members of the Central Indiana Chapter in particular, and wish you continuing success. Thank you so much for the invitation to the dinner, celebration and additional activities. Please extend my greetings to your members and the other past presidents that will be in attendance.” Bernie Keller was Central Indiana Chapter President from 1960 to 1961. He was the 1st president after the consolidation of the three co-presidents from the groups that formed ASHRAE.
With our delay in getting the February meeting done we have very little time until our March meeting which is our joint meeting with USGBC at the very successful Energy Symposium. Through a lot of effort from Jack Kibort and AJ Wilkerson we were able to get ASHRAE president Gordon Holness to be our speaker. This is only fitting since ASHRAE is a big player in the LEED certification of buildings and HVAC engineers touch more points in the LEED checklist than anyone. I hope you can make it.
