Final Total 96-97.......... 3372 PAST PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE As usual, Dale Fazekas with FACO is organizing our golf outing for the 1997-1998 ASHRAE season. Typically, it is oversubscribed and preference is given to those who signed up last year, in as much as they will have first chance at a reservation for this tournament. People do drop out at the last minute, so if you are interested in playing, please call Dale at the number provided and I am sure that he will get you a place. This method of determining who plays caused some consternation last year; however we have yet to determine a better method for providing opportunities to enter. The final tally for PAOE is in, and as can be seen from the chart our scores were very respectable, hitting par in most categories and exceeding the maximum in history. In some cases, notably Refrigeration, many of the opportunities for points were removed, thereby making it much more challenging to accumulate points. It should also be noted that two of the point making categories, CRC and Meeting Attendance (areas where we typically shine), have been removed from previous years. Please accept my thanks for an excellent effort on the part of everybody. CRC plans for 1998 in Indianapolis are well along, chaired by Jim Willson. As a handout. we are providing refrigerator magnets advertising the Indianapolis CRC. It is a unique concept for us and one that we hope will attract attendees to this event. We have a lot to offer in Indianapolis and we need to get the word out to as many people as possible. The program promises to provide interesting topics for both ASHRAE members and their spouses. I use the politically correct word "spouse;" however, in this case it would have been equally correct to use the word "wives." The Indianapolis CRC event will be taking place at the Crowne-Plaza Hotel which has some unique features as well as being located in the heart of the downtown activities. Our web page is now firmly established and has grown in stature from its beginnings. It now includes a fully searchable Product Directory, as well as ongoing plans for the Indianapolis CRC. Also included are meeting and program announcements as well as a convenient way to contact our chapter thr ough Email. Through our web site, Randy Roberson, our Webmeister, has provided our chapter with a tool on which to grow and expand. The future looks bright for our chapter as we enter the 1997-1998 season and a well earned thanks to all those who made our past season such a success and are making the future appear so promising.
