Meeting Program Theme: Web based information Cost: $20 per person, Students $5. Includes lunch and program. Cash Bar is available. Meeting Program: Our speaker this month is Jeffrey L. Kaden. Jeff graduated from Iowa State w/ BSCE in 1979, and began working as a public servant throughout his career, first as regulator with the Illinois EPA, then with the City of Bloomington in water works, and, since joining IU in 1988 has held many facility related positions. Jeff is currently the University Engineer and Director of Engineering Services for Indiana University at IU's Bloomington and off-site campuses. Jeff will be giving a presentation on IU's use of the internet to transfer data on construction services to the consulting engineers, contractors and architects. Jeff will demonstrate on a high speed IU internet connection where all upcoming projects are available for review, including size of project in Square Feet and dollars and the status of funding approval. Jeff will then present BRICSNET, giving an interactive tour of the site, where IU makes available items such as construction documents, meeting minutes, submittals, notes, questions, RFI's, and all project documentation with major on-going projects. Tech Session:Because this is a lunch meeting there will be no Tech Session.
