Meeting Program:Sean Clayton, Market Research Manager at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation, will provide an overview of the inaugural U.S. Grand Prix at Indianapolis. Sean has ten years experience in the market research industry. Prior to his current position at IMSC he worked as a client Services Director at Indianapolis-based Walker Information. Sean is a native of England but has resided in Indianapolis since 1996 with his American wife, Christine. Tech SessionOur topic will be the automotive industry and manufacturing facilities in Indianapolis at the turn of the century. Our speaker, Mr. John L. Rupp is an Automotive Historian, writer, and lecturer, who has been researching the Indiana automotive history since 1994. A graduate of California State University he has appeared in Indianapolis on local access television, as a guest on the Circle City Cartalk program on WXLW radio, and as a guest Historian for the IMS Hall of Fame Museum at the 1997 Indianapolis Auto Show. Only one more meeting for the 1998-1999 ASHRAE program year so be sure to attend the May meeting, to make your professional commitment of attending more ASHRAE meetings this year.The Region V CRC will be held in Cleveland this year on August 12-14. The Cleveland Chapter will be sending information to the other area Chapters in the near future. Congratulations to the Purdue University Student Chapter for celebrating their 50th year anniversary. A celebration was held in West Lafayette, IN on April 17.The Central Indiana Chapter would like to congratulate Dr. Raymond Cohen. Dr. Cohen will be receiving the Distinguished Service Award at the ASHRAE Annual Meeting in Seattle which is June 19-23. This honor is very appropriate, as he is one of our most distinguished members of our outstanding chapter. Dr. Cohen has been at Purdue University since 1947 and has served as Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Director of Ray Herrick Laboratories and Endowed Chair - The Herrick Professor of Engineering. Dr. Cohen is also a past "Man of the Year" of the Central Indiana Chapter. This is just a sample of his accomplishments, to view a complete personal of Dr. Cohen visit the CIC Home Page.
